Football
is coming to Africa!
The idea for Footballs For Fun came after it was announced that the FIFA World Cup would be held in South Africa in June & July 2010. It will be the first time on African soil; a tribute to the millions who play football daily and to the stars who delight spectators and fans of every premier league throughout Britain and Europe.
Africa's sport
Soccer, football, call it what you like; it is Africa's sport. But millions play on dusty fields, on beaches, in townships and the open bush, often with home-made balls like this boy does. Someone, probably many out there, is talented and skilful enough to get into the national squad in 2010 - if this boy had a proper, full-sized, high quality ball, could he dream about 2010 for real?

An letter from one of our customers reads:
“Many thanks for helping me obtain some footballs at the last minute before our trip to South Africa. We distributed seven balls and each was enthusiastically received by a very surprised and happy person. At each lodge we stayed in, all the fellow-guests remarked what a good and considerate idea the footballs were.” “We didn't get a chance to see many children on this trip, but the adults we gave the balls to said they would pass them on.” Peter Young

Our founder, John Haycock comes from Africa and is a tour operator in London. He is used to the question from people as they prepare to go to Africa on safari, holiday or to do business: 'What can I take as a gift?'. Footballs For Fun is the best answer ever invented!
